Manuia! There's nothing like clinking at a table under the island palms, with good people, great kai and a light sea breeze at sunset by the moana.

Let's be honest. The opposite to that are the work or business tables out there that are missing the point - and the fun!

As an indigenous creative who has sat on a variety of tables, some decision-making tables manage to squeeze the very essence out of its own purpose leading to a domino effect of stripping the essential outcomes to those they are meant to support.

But good tables are ones where dedication to and beyond the kaupapa exists, where logic, relevance and realities are prioritised in often archaic processes that trap the incompetent or unconfident.

This can also be said for some event tables which are killed by stiff, status seat filling. Some of which could do with spicing up or sending an invitation to 'Miss Margarita Lanita' (Email mai!)

So here we are. Table One - here to help connect, curate, create and celebrate. And in this online age of sharing and caring - Welcome to Table One Talks! A blog for the kaupapa that’s about winning better and winning together.

Our world of the Aotearoa, NZ  media, screen and creative industries are dealing with a myriad of restructures, funding and institutional issues, trying to survive. In fact, we could say the same across health, housing, justice, education systems too.

Sounds hideous. It actually is.

But I've always believed in our magic as storytellers, the pulse of the global indigenous heartbeat and the power of good people doing good sh*t.

It's amazing that our global indigenous cultural value has yet to reached its mega potential. There is so much magic when the archaic frameworks are changed and we lead our own way. I'm here for the change-making. Inviting you all to come through.

Come. Be real with me. Invite me to your table.
